The first was at a bar that sponsors my gym and we had a section closed off for us, so most everyone there was pretty knowledgeable of the game. The second was this past evening for the UFC. I got to say that I've never been so annoyed with these arm chair warriors who think they know everything there is to know about fighting and the fighters because they've watched a few UFC's or maybe a few Pride's. Asides from having to deal with my favorite fighters loosing, I had to deal with hearing these wannabes! It's like these fat beer belly pricks who sit on their couch saying they should have done this or they should have done that; and this is coming from people who probably experience exhaustion after taking a piss! I've learned my lesson! I'll spend the 30 - 40 bucks to watch the fight in the comfort of my home and not have to listen to all of these wannabe UFC twats! Because if I go to another bar again, I'll be choking someone out!

A Great Night of Fights!

Tonight had a great line up of fights and even more exciting news from the UFC. This event was one I have been waiting for, for months! As exciting as the event was and as entertaining as the fights were, I was disappointed! Not disappointed in the fights themselves or the event, but by the outcomes of the fights. This UFC has to be the first UFC that I've called incorrectly! Every fighter I thought would win lost! When the Tito and Chuck fight came around, I thought that this would turn things around for me. Evey fighter I wanted to win, lost. So, I was hoping and praying that Tito would take this one. Unfortunately that was not the case. Besides that, my hats off to anyone that steps in the cage! Win or loose they are warriors in my eyes! Here's to a great night of fights!

P.S. The exciting news I was speaking of earlier was Cro Cop coming to the UFC! That's a whole other post that I will most definitely get into!

New Combat Sports United Online Store!

Check out our new line of products sponsored in part by cafe press! So here goes...

Right now, at this point in time, the general public and a good portion of martial artists out there consider MMA to be another term for NHB, Vale Tudo, or cage fighting. I look at MMA as a mix of different martial arts disciplines. It's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Boxing, Karate, etc. It's a mix! A melting pot! So when I look at a school that say that they are an MMA school, I see them as a blend of different martial art offerings.

Again, just board out of my mind so I thought I'd share my thoughts! =)

A Great Piece on MMA!

If you're a fan or practitioner of the sport and anything related to MMA, you got to see this video. Your mind is ultimately what determines whether you win or loose! If you go into a competition unsure of yourself you will result in an unsure performance! If you find yourself questioning yourself, there is the strong possibility of you not performing to the best of your abilities which will also possibly hurt you in the long run by affecting your outlook on competition there after. All it takes is one bad experience to affect the rest.

There have been many studies conducted on the mental aspects of competition and one of the most common denominators of competition is the athlete's mental preparedness. Take the power lifter for example. Just there other day I was watching a show on discovery channel and they were interviewing an Olympic lifter and he was talking about how he needs to mentally prepare himself for every lift. He stated that "you need to visualize yourself doing the lift. The slightest question of your abilities will keep you from completing the lift!" The same goes for any other sport!

So to make a long drawn out explanation and debate short, before competing, make sure that you are mentally prepared and in the right mind set. Anything else can be detrimental to future successes and progressions.

The first one!

This is my first ever blog and I don't exactly know how to start it.
